Cascarilla - ritual chalk

Efun, comes from the African Yoruban practice of Orisha worship, and is traditionally made of crushed snail shell.  Cascarilla is the modern incarnation of efun, made from finely powdered eggshell.  Cascarilla can be used as ritual chalk or can be used several other ways spiritually, such as:1) crush some in the palm of your hand into a very fine powder and blow into every room of the house to remove negative energy.2) mark the entrances of your home with small equal-armed crosses, this is done at the tops of your doors to keep out dark forces.3) mark the body, such as the navel, forehead, and back of the neck to keep yourself protected and cleansed
