Necromancy 101: Working The Dead

Death is not an ending but a doorway. Necromancy is the art of walking through it. In this immersive class, we will explore Latin American and Afro-Caribbean approaches to working with the dead, where the ancestors and restless spirits alike are honored, petitioned, and called into dialogue.

Students will learn how to:

• Create and consecrate a personal oracle for speaking with the dead, which you will take home to continue your practice.

• Establish connection and make respectful pacts with spirits.

• Work the graveyard as a temple of the dead—learning how to gather graveyard dirt, cemetery water, and other powerful materials.

• Understand and carefully approach the use of human remains such as bones, bone dust, and ashes in ritual work.
