About the event
How do you venerate the dead? Â In ancient Mexico, a festival of flowers was done during ninth month of the year to celebrate the harvest. Â Flowers adorned the graves and tombs of those that had passed on to remind us that with death comes regeneration. Â Today this practice has evolved into the modern celebration of Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead.
City Alchemist invites you to come learn and celebrate the festival of death. Â We will cover the historical roots as well as the current practices and how they are done today. Â By the end of this course you will have a better understanding of this powerful holiday and its symbolism, as well as know how you can properly invite the dead into your own home.
